The day started with collecting seashells and various items from the ocean as we hung out in the sunshine, prepping for our mermaid shoot with Jordan. Katy Jane Makeup painted shells for Jordan's body, along with creating a fantasy look with her makeup to give the illusion of a washed up mermaid on the beach. We had a ton of fun from start to finish of this shoot. Katy Jane Makeup did a beautiful job helping to bring this fantasy shoot to life.

We had discussed that we wanted to create a mermaid that looks and feels authentic. After photographing Jordan, I then photographed real fish tails at the supermarket to bring her tail to life in the editing process. I feel the only way to have that authentic look is to photograph real elements and incorporate them into the photo afterwards.
